Everyone, every day is faced with life problems they must solve. In many situations individuals, couples and families find successful solutions to these normal concerns. Occasionally, a problem resists normal solutions no matter how hard one tries. When normal solutions fail, consultation with a professional therapist may be necessary. Our goal at the Michigan Family Institute, Inc., is to help stop conflict before it does further damage to already difficult relationships.

We practice brief, problem solving therapy at MFI. That means we focus specifically on changing troublesome problems so that people feel better rather than focusing on how people feel about their problems. Research has demonstrated that even serious problems can often be improved in a relatively short period of time.
